He's a nigh-immortal work horse, practically un-killable, and armed with a sword made of swords.

I still fail to see how he has any redeeming feature beyond being a tool.

But, she's young you, which means she'll probably do something which gets her particularly hurt while seeking revenge.

It's the massive toolness that makes him redeemable. Also the fact he's a little pervert helps.
